The following are suggested formats for NCHSDG events. Note that event formats may vary from region to region, and participants should double check with their local coordinators for specifics.
NCHSDG leagues should, when possible:
Be inclusive and accessible to any and all high school aged student(s) who want to participate and are eligible.
Not be held concurrently with adult or other youth leagues.
Consist of at least (2) regular season singles events of at least 9 holes (although 4+ events and 18 holes is preferred)
Conclude with a regional championship event (see below for more information on regional championships)
Offer at least (1) but as many as (4) HS student exclusive divisions, as needed (and no others):
MSV: Mixed Scholastic Varsity - Open to all students in any grade level.
FSV: Female Scholastic - Open to all female students in any grade level.
MSJV: Mixed Scholastic Junior Varsity - Open to all students in 9th or 10th grade only.
FSJV: Female Scholastic Junior Varsity - Open to all female students in 9th or 10th grade only.
Provide skill-level appropriate layouts for each of the divisions offered
Record and publish event results in a timely manner (PDGA live, DiscGolfScene, and NCHSDG.org, when possible)
Follow the rules and eligibility requirements of the NCHSDG, PDGA, and local partner clubs, as applicable.
Regional championship events are used to determine the regional champions and serve as a season-ending event for regional leagues. Regional championships are the highest level event that offers the MSJV and FSJV divisions. Regional championships will determine bid winners and seeding to the state championship event for the MSV and FSV divisions.
Dates and locations for specific regions can be found on the regional championships page of the website.
